Been invited to a wedding this year?
Stuck for ideas as to what to gift to the newlyweds?
With wedding season fast approaching, it’s time to start thinking about what to gift the happy couple on their wedding day. It’s no surprise most of us get stuck when it comes to buying wedding presents, and whilst it’s perfectly acceptable to gift some money or a gift card, it’s never as special as gifting something truly personal –after all a personal touch is priceless.
A wedding gift should not be thought of as payment for a wedding invitation or as compensation for all the money spent on the big day, but rather a way to express your appreciation for the couple and to part your best wishes to the bride and groom. Why not gift a present from the heart? Nothing will say it better than thoughtful personalised wedding gifts!
Giving a memorable wedding keepsake will keep the couples memories treasured for a lifetime. We thought we’d give you a few ideas on some great gifts that will keep on giving!
Engraved Wedding Photo Frames
Now this may seem like a pretty obvious and generic gift to give to newlyweds, and you’re probably thinking ‘I can’t buy that, surely someone else would have thought of that idea?’ But what if you were to pre-fill the photo frame with something personal to the couple? This doesn’t have to be just photographs (although photographs such as childhood pictures or pictures of the couple in the early days of their relationship would be a nice idea), but perhaps frame their wedding invitation!
Alternatively, you could pre-fill the spaces with the lyrics of their first song from their first dance, or even of each other’s vows. Engraved wedding photo frames also allow a space for an engraved message to leave the couple a personal message such as ‘Congratulations on your wedding day!’, or simply have their names and dates added. This way they can look back with fond memories of their wedding day, with a beautifully displayed reminder sitting on their mantelpiece.
DIY Boxed Frame
Needing a cost effective present that is personal and will still show thoughtfulness? Why not get crafty and create something yourself. After all some of the happiest gifts are homemade!
There are a couple of different ways you could compose a DIY boxed frame. You could type up ‘Here’s to your first toast!’ followed by ‘Mr & Mrs (insert surname here)’, whilst leaving a cork sized space in the middle and finished with the date of their wedding and maybe a personal message to the bride and groom. This could then be inserted into the photograph slot of the frame, and a ribbon could be tied through two holes the middle of the paper so they can tie in the cork from their first bottle of champagne used to toast to married life. This way the couple can tie the knot in more ways than one!
Personalised Wine/Champagne Bottle
So you’re looking to give the gift that keeps on giving, but have you ever wondered what a couple can do once they finished that fancy personalised wine or champagne you bought them? Then this is a great idea, particularly for couples who enjoy travelling and collecting from their adventures!
It is common that couples collect souvenirs from places they’ve been to as a little memento of their travels. But rather than typically collecting fridge magnets or postcards, why not suggest they can use their empty personalised wine or champagne bottle as a beach holiday memory bottle! Often newlyweds jet off to their honeymoon destinations, and want something to bring back that is symbolic of their romantic break. By collecting, a little piece of sand from a beach (or even small pebbles) from their adventures, they can gradually layer their empty bottle year after year, labelling as they go with each of their destinations.
Over the years this will double up as a memorable keepsake, and great way to display their exciting adventures in the home!
There are plenty of different personalised wedding gifts to give to a newly married couple. Whether you buy something that is unique and personal, or hand make something yourself, it isn’t how much we give, but how much love we put into giving!
