Swooping, singing and hopping from branch to branch: is there anything more peaceful than observing local birds from your kitchen window on a Sunday morning? Well, it’s been a long cold winter, and the first signals of spring are starting to appear in the form of feathered friends returning to our gardens. More than ever, it’s important to help our feathered friends and lovingly encourage them to return to day in and day out. With winter being the hardest time of year for all our wildlife to survive due to scarcity of food, shouldn’t we be making sure they get enough to eat so they can share their lovely voices with you throughout the year?
Feeding wild birds in the back garden is an easy hobby to start and need not overtax the family budget. That’s where GiftsOnline4U comes in. One of our best-selling products is our Personalised Wine Boxes, which we have sold thousands of over the years. As a company that supports and encourages the use of old products to upcycle and reuse, we have actively tried to encourage our customers, readers of our blog and our social followers, to repurpose some of their old gifts, particularly our wine boxes. In a previous article, we shared ideas on how to upcycle old wooden wine boxes into a number of things including a bird house, and now with National Bird Feeding month, we’d like to offer people the opportunity to submit their ideas for upcycling an old wine box to create a DIY bird feeder.
We’re aiming to encourage bird watching communities, individuals and families alike, to get involved with something creative and equally beneficial to the conservation of birds in the UK. We’re calling all DIY enthusiasts up for a home project, families with young children, nature enthusiasts, bird watchers, and anyone interested in taking part to send their photos of their creative ideas and finished products to us to be in for the chance to win £100 worth of vouchers to spend with GiftsOnline4U.
In honour of National Bird Feeding Month this February, here is the GiftsOnline4U team’s tried and tested version of a wooden wine box bird feeder, to help birds during the winter…
